ProData Releases DBU 7.0 (Database Utility)

Omaha, Nebraska - December 1, 2005

ProData Computer Services, Inc., a developer of programmer utilities on the iSeries, announces the general availability of DBU 7.0, the newest version of its popular database utility.

DBU 7.0 now supports a fast, convenient method of activating DBU on any iSeries server anytime, anywhere. Whether during testing or when an occasional need to utilize DBU on any server or additional partition arises, DBU 7.0 can be activated “on demand” for a daily usage fee. Additional enhancements to DBU include quick launch icons for desktop access to DBU applications, new print options, multiple language support, new fast commands, floating point support, validity checking for DDS ranges and values, and more.

DBU 7.0 also extends engine enhancements for the graphical user interface and the traditional green screen version for quality performance. No matter which method the user chooses, the performance & features of DBU provides full functionality. Using DBU.7.0, analysts can research or edit field contents, reactivate deleted records and include these records for search functions, and create database maintenance applications. Security can be tailored to user-profiles and audit trails can monitor file modifications.

"With this product release, we continue to offer innovative enhancements to make this a 'must have' database tool for all iSeries AS/400 shops," said Allen Hartley, owner of ProData. "With its ServerProven status and designation on the IBM Roadmap, iSeries shops can be assured it’s a great tool to use."

DBU 7.0 is designed to complement other ProData productivity utilities for the iSeries AS/400 and can be packaged with DBU Audit for compliance issues, DBUnifier for on-demand applications, SQL/PRO, RSP (RPG Server Pages) and additional programmer tools offered by ProData.
