ProData Announces New DBU Audit Plug-in

Omaha, NE, January 17, 2005 - ProData Computer Services, Inc. announces a new plug-in for DBU, database utility, to help satisfy the demand for monitoring and controlling the DBU environment due to regulatory compliance or internal mandates. DBU Audit is an extension that allows users to track and monitor modifications or displays made to any iSeries database using DBU. The audit software journals all modifications made by users via DBU and features an interface to display and report these changes for internal audits and tracking.

The DBU Audit interface allows the administrator to start or stop the auditing function, display or extract audit data for viewing or reporting, and to maintain the integrity of the audit files. Users can now log and monitor all database activity from DBU including the display of data on sensitive database files, like payroll.

Combined with DBU authority controls, which offer extensive tailoring on the access of all files and tailoring of the functionality within DBU for each user, DBU Audit creates the tracking and reporting mechanisms necessary for IT audits. DBU audit files can easily be protected from misuse and special security needs can be tailored as needed by appropriate users.
