ProData Releases DBUnifier

Omaha, NE, December 21, 2004 - ProData Computer Services, Inc., the leading developer of program utilities for the iSeries enterprise, releases DBUnifier. This new product unifies ProData’s database utility and the applications it creates(DBUapps) with field prompting plus record and field validation. DBUnifier applications can also replace current DFUs in the iSeries environment. DFU, which is packaged with WDS tools, can be costly for IT shops. DBUnifier eliminates the reliance on DFU while exceeding DFU functionality.

DBUnifier was developed to assist programmers and power users with the ability to create interactive applications from DB2/400 database information. DBUnifier takes DBUAPPS to a new level with the ability to create selection lists (F4-lists processes), work with subfile processes, and create inquiry and file maintenance applications with field level validations. Now end-users can validate input fields against database content or pull up lists of valid data to ensure accurate data entry.

DBUnifier applications are created to view and maintain information from database files. An application stores information on how to display and process the information. To create a DBUnifier application, users follow a sequence of displays that guide them through the process of defining and saving an application. The unified application is then stored as an object which contains all the details that DBUnifier needs to process the file in the way specified. Once the application is defined, end-users can execute it in the green-screen environment.

DBUnifier is available on the iSeries for operating system V4R2 and above
