You can update the plug-in using the method described in your post however the DBU90 server software will need to be installed on the iSeries/System i prior to the update.

now that DBU 9 has been released, will the plugins at wdscdbu.prodatacomputer.com be updated from 8 to 9 as well ? It's great being able to access DBU right inside RDP  Smiley

We believe we did not reduce functionality but instead improved functionality with this change however after further review we also acknowledge that the process that you explained you use should be reinstated.  Due to change management procedures we will be unable to make this change available with DBU80 however it will be made available with DBU90 and we will notify you when that version is available.  Thank you for your input.

In DBU 9.0, DUP will still let you add multiple records at once, but if you add just one record, it will remain in ADD mode.

Just curious, but why did they take away functionality that previously existed. We used to be able to do this in DBU 6.0

That is the way DUP works in DBU 8.0.  Your request will be included as an enhancement for DBU 9.0, which will be available around the end of June, 2010.

So you are saying it doesn't work the same way is it did in 6.0 but in 9.0 it work the same as it did in 6.0?

I noticed that when I try to duplicate records and key in DUP in the control field, after I duplicate the record it does back to DISPLAY mode and I have to key DUP in again to duplicate the same record again. Specifying Number Of records To Duplicate >  1 is not a solution because usually I want to change a few things before adding the record. With previous version of DBU, when you specify DUP in the control field and press ENTER, it would stay in ADD mode after ENTER was pressed so you could keep duping records, changing whatever fields you wanted before pressing ENTER to add it and then it would stay in ADD mode so you dup another one. Is this a change in 7.0 or is there a way I can do this they way I was able to in 7.0

This may be defined in either the default job description or the initial program parameters for the user profile.  We would recommend that you contact your system administrator for assistance in determining where this setting is being changed.  DBU is designed to use the Job defaults and there is no method to change this using DBU since this is a function of the operating system.  If you feel we may be able to provide additional assistance please contact us by phone at 1.800.228.6318 and use option 2 for Technical Support.

Never mind

I found where to change it.  Change user profile setting for print device from *WRKSTN to the desired outq.

thanks
